Standardizing certain words

In many articles I've seen the same words spelled differently or including hyphens sometimes. These words aren't exact English so the spelling is ambiguous sometimes. The worse one I've seen is: Devirtualization (also knows as Devirtualized, Devirtualizes. But also seen as De-virtualization (occurs on 40 pages), De-virtualized (42 pages), De-virtualizes (38), and the absolutely incorrect spelling Devirtualisation, Devirtualised, Devirtualises, and combos therein: De-virtualisation, De-virtualised, De-virtualises)

There is at least 132 of these different spellings minimum. (that is only 1 same misspelling per page, which is highly unlikely. More likely to have 2 to 3 problems per page). And this is only with 1 word.

Maybe the good admins could do some sort of global Find and Replace, and/or add some code the editor to automatically replace incorrect words with some sort of standard. What do you think?

Thanks -Kairos

The issue which you have braught up has been a problem for a long time, and I have done my best to fix the words that are spelled incorrect. However it is not possible for us to tweak the MediaWiki edit toolbar, so the only way to do it is to stay on the lookout for missspelled words and correct them as you go. The following common words show the correct spelling of them. Let me know if you find more words spelled incorrect. --Co-Supercomputer Sector X - My message board - My history 07:50, 19 February 2009 (PST)

  • Devirtualize
  • Materialize
This has been happening for quite some time now. There is not much one can do about it but change it as you go as Sector X has said. Though this is not really a huge issue, I advise users to watch as they type when using those words.--Wassup!!-D33DeeD33Guy Is a SuperComputer!!??...R.I.P. Dad 11:39, 19 February 2009 (PST)

Quotes

i think there should be quotes on every charachter's page that describes their personality, preferrably from themselves. i know you'll probably say something about code quote, but maybe we could link to it or something. YumiRulz 12:26, 27 March 2009 (PDT)

It could be possible to have a tiny collection of famous quotes on each character to be displayed on their character page. --Co-Supercomputer Sector X - My message board - My history 07:39, 28 March 2009 (PDT)

Former Guardians and Skids

I am reccomending that on the guardian page we display all former guardians as well as there activity period. I think this would be fit because those members worked hard to become guardians and after they ceased activity they are seemingly forgotton yet one cannot forget all the hard work they had put in to building this wiki and helping it become what it would be today. Here is an Example of what I meand:

  • ===Current===
  • Guardian 1
  • Guardian 2
  • Guardian 3
  • Guardian 4
  • ===Former===
  • Guardian 6 - June 2nd 2006 - Janurary 3rd 2008
  • Guardian 7 - Novemeber 3rd 2007 - March 28th 2008 (Promoted to supercomputer March 28th 2008)

I have also made it so it list when their class changes and this will also include Skids. Any views? --Wassup!!-D33DeeD33Guy Is a SuperComputer!!??...R.I.P. Dad 13:44, 8 June 2009 (PDT)

I think the idea is great. A lot of the gaurdians have made the wiki of what it is today, we have to give them some credit. - Lyokogirl9 - 17:25, 8 June, 2009 (EST)

I agree with Lyokogirl9, all the inactive members should get some credit for building this wiki for what it is today. Aelita413 8 June 2009 18:57 (CST)
