Seeking advice
I am new to this site and was considering transferring my wiki from another host (wiki-site.com), purely for the reason of being able to block edits from unregistered users. Looking at the general chatter here, some people seem to be a bit disgruntled with this site for one reason or another. Possibly just due to lack of support from RobKohr? Is it ok here? Do you think it would be wise for me to move here, or should I stay put? Stocko 06:10, 24 July 2007 (EDT)
- I know you didn't ask me, but being the other admin besides Stormraven, at editthis, I say it's your choice. I warn you before coming in here, that the bugs, and technology news is overflowing and is unlikely to get taken care of soon. (or at all) An example would be that MediaWiki has not been upgraded in over two years. That is kind of concerning. MediaWiki runs at 1.5.1, a lot of features are broken etc. The general use of editthis is free and easy. I seem unable to contact wiki-site.com because the IP that runs it cannot be found. - EditThis is a useful site, but it has its problems and associated frustrations. You'll have to judge for yourself whether it's a better place for you than the site you're already using, but a look at the Feedback page will give you an idea as to how unresponsive RobKohr is in addressing issues and maintaining the site. —Stormraven (talk · contribs) 08:46, 25 July 2007 (EDT)
