Elly Confidence Strife

Elly Strife is Joel and Phil's next-door neighbor. Apparently, they have known each other for some time--Elly mentions in Get Baccurs that she and Phil knew each other from before high school, and it can be assumed that this applies to Joel as well. It is also known that she went to high school with both Phil and Cassidy.

Elly was at the center of the show's original love triangle. Phil has, from the beginning of the series, had an unrequited crush on Elly (as first shown in Character), while Elly has a crush on Joel. Her crush on him has been known to cross the boundaries of normalcy, and is surpassed only by Cassidy's obsession with Phil; for example, she suggests in Virtual Diary that Joel touch her stuff so she can smell his fingerprints later on. He has never shown any signs of reciprocating her feelings for him--indeed, he seemed surprised that she was female in The FAT of the LAN. As of The Day The World Did Stuff, however, she and Andrew are in a relationship, though she still has feelings for Joel.

Though she has expressed her hatred for Phil multiple times, they do appear to be friends--they have worked together numerous times, and in Get Baccurs, the two went out to dinner together.

In Strong Liqcurs, Elly opened a bar, Elly's House Of Blue Screen Of Death (usually just referred to as "Elly's bar"). It appears that this is her main occupation; however, it was mentioned on the old High Score site that she is a webmaster, which may or may not still be true.

At the end of season 5, Elly and Andrew went off into space in search of Joel and Phil; during this time, they became a couple, and went on several adventures. Eventually, they wound up on Hydrox, and helped defeat KOKOR.

Elly's real name is the source of some confusion. On the old High Score comics page, it is mentioned that her real name is Amy Richardson; on the High Score character page, it is implied that her real first name is Jody, though Strife is still listed as her last name. However, this has never been brought up in Bonus Stage.

Until The Day The World Did Stuff, Elly was voiced by Matt Wilson. In the middle of the episode, though, she coughs, revealing that she has had something caught in her throat for the entire series; from this point on, she is voiced by Kagome, who would later go on to voice June and Sasha.

Fun Facts

In High Score, Elly was going to have an abusive ex-boyfriend named Ray; this was alluded to by Phil in Just Passion Through.
She claims to hate the Irish in Fibbing, which may have something to do with her dislike of Phil (who is Irish).
She has had more physical redesigns than any other character.
In the first High Score episode, E Quest, Elly hinted that she had previously had sexual interactions with other women, and often enjoyed them, implying that Elly is bisexual; in the same scene, it was implied that June was bisexual as well.
